Music

Choir

Music at the 11:15am Sunday Mass
We have a group of singers who lead the 11:15am Sunday mass with traditional Hymns and a Mass setting. They rehearse at 19:30 on Thursdays and welcome more members. More men in particular are very welcome!

The group is led by our organist. If you go to 11:15am Mass and would like to know more about singing, please contact Fr Ruslan or ask Jill, our organist, before/after Mass.

Folk groups

Folk groups
The 9.15 Sunday mass is celebrated with a less formal, contemporary music style.  There are two groups that alternate each Sunday to lead us in our worship music. Singers and musicians are always welcome - no previous experience required! Just come along; on the 2nd, 4th and 5th Sundays of each month a rehearsal will take place for 15 minutes before Mass. Workshops to learn new music and prepare are held every couple of months - check the newsletter for details.

St Erconwald Singers
The St Erconwald Singers are a group of children from the parish, who love to sing, play instruments and participate at 9.15am on the First Sunday of the month during term time. Rehearsals are after the 9.15 mass on the third Sunday of the month and also at Cardinal Newman School on Wednesdays during term time.

The group practice at THE AFTER SCHOOL CLUB on WEDNESDAY AFTERNOONS. It is open to all children from Cardinal Newman School who would like to sing and lead the music at mass.
