It is a requirement of Canon Law that parishes should have a Finance Committee to advise and support the Parish priest.
Over the last 18 months we have been strengthening the capacity of our Finance Committee so that we can become a more effective part of the management of the parish. We are developing our mission in partnership with the Parish Pastoral Council and we will be working hard to strengthen the Parish's financial position so that we can support of all the pastoral, liturgical, social and community outreach that the parish wishes to do. Our title - the Finance and Fabric Committee - reflects the fact that our responsibilities extend beyond finance to include looking after the land and buildings we occupy (the Church, the church hall, the car park, gardens and the presbytery). That includes health and safety with regard to our spaces and all who use them. We are also responsible for ensuring that the parish complies with its legal responsibilities in respect of how we manage personal information. If you would like to know more about the work of our own parish committee or would like to talk to any of us or raise any issues with us, click on the link to the FFC biographies or contact Susana in the parish office who can put you in touch with any of us. |
