It is a requirement of Canon Law that parishes should have a Finance Committee to advise and support the Parish priest. As we are now part of the new Parish of Weybridge, an overall parish finance committee is being established.
To distinguish from the Weybridge Parish Finance Committee, our team is now known as the Stewardship Group (formerly Finance and Fabric Committee). Our responsibilities extend beyond finance to include looking after the land and buildings we occupy (the Church, the church hall, the car park, gardens and the presbytery). That includes health and safety with regard to our spaces and all who use them. We are also responsible for ensuring that St Erconwald complies with its legal responsibilities in respect of how we manage personal information. In time these responsibilities may change as the new parish structures are established. If you would like to know more about the work of parish finance committees in general, click on the link to the Diocesan Finance Handbook. If you would like to know more about the work of our own parish committee or would like to talk to any of us or raise any issues with us, click on the link to the FFC biographies or contact Susana in the parish office who can put you in touch with any of us. |
